Interests

  • Teaching

Sidney is an enthusiastic and passionate teacher, showing great interest in dance education and pedagogy. She has taught in an abundance of contexts including primary, intermediate and secondary schools, dance studios, and overseas in international schools. Sidney aims to provide her students with more understanding of the world and their place in it.

  • Performance + Choreography

Performing and Choreography are both valuable forms of creative expression for Sidney, providing her with the opportunity to perceive and project difficult topics. She has choreographed and performed in many contexts. These include her university shows in which she collaborated with classmates to create choreography centred around topics such as string theory and human evolution.

  • Creative Skills

Approaching her dancing through interdisciplinary led practices has ensured that Sidney’s products remain original and developed. By using mediums such as fibre arts, journaling, writing and curation, her processes are able to be documented and developed. This then results in a range of perspectives within her works.
